This year the FEHOVA exhibition in Budapest (FE – fegyver, „gun“, HO – „horgász, „fishing“, VA – vadász „hunt“) took place together with the Equestrian Trade Show. Besides the numerous exihibitors and visitors, also the special interest magazine „A Vadászkutya“ (Hound/Sighthound) hat a stand where to get all information on the serveral breeds, to have a realistic experience of their behaviour and to watch them in daily lives.
On three days the MATOE, the officially recognised breeder association, and OAE organized show programs with indoor/outdoor-coursings for the Magyar Agar, Hungarian Sighthound, that invited to watch this breed at ‘work’: the hunt.

In Hungary (almost all-around Euope) the official hunt with sighthounds is not allowed. Hunting fraternity do not look on the sighthound owners favourably: in the past years, poaching and unethical hunt let the sighthounds and their owners appear in a bad light.
The MATOE and OAE are committed to re-astablish the good reputation of the Hungarian Sighthound and to enable the dogs and their owners for this long-established and traditional hunt, to go for and accept the talents of the Magyar Agar. Step by step they come along with their ideas.
‘This year, no one abuses the sighhounds/owners, no bad atmosphere – quite the contrary – lots of people admired our dogs, praised them and enjoyed to pet them. This makes us happy and proud…`
